Meetings and discussions

During these two immersive days, the delegation was able to discover:

  • the organization of equestrian tourism in France,
  • the tools to support equestrian tourism stakeholders,
  • the promotion of practices,
  • and training courses for supervisors and practitioners, offered by the French NETO.

In addition, during presentations and field visits, the Moroccan professionals met with French professionals from the Centre-Val de Loire Region (regional natural park, equestrian tourism committees, equestrian tourism centres). They also discovered a portion of the European Road d'Artagnan.

Importance of training, marking and GIS

Frédéric Bouix, the FITE President, spoke about the importance of training managers and riders for the development of equestrian tourism activities. As a reminder, in January 2022, the FITE launched a regulation for the equestrian guide diploma.

The interactive map GeoCheval set up by the French NETO was also presented, as well as the advantages of the Geographic Information System.

During the visit of the route, the delegation also discovered the French national mark for the marking of equestrian routes. It should be remembered that equestrian marking guarantees the safety of both riders and horses, and the smooth running of the journey. This summer, the FITE published a Good practices Guide on marking and signage.

Enriching sharing of experiences

All the exchanges and discussions will support Moroccan professionals in the development of equestrian tourism infrastructures in the Fès-Meknès region.

A next meeting is planned during the Horse Show of El Jadida at the end of October, in which Frédéric Bouix will participate.
