With around 1,000 participants from all over France and other countries (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Morocco...), Equirando, organized under the aegis of the FITE by the FFE-CNTE, the French NETO, is the largest gathering of riders and drivers practicing equestrian tourism in Europe.
Participants, known as Equirandins, come from all over Europe and converge freely on the rallying point. The principle is simple: everyone sets off from wherever they wish, accompanied or unaccompanied, solo, as a duo, with family or friends. The ride can last three days, a week, a month or even longer! Equirandins must cover a minimum of 100 kilometers on their approach rides.
These approach rides are non-competitive, with the utmost respect for the horse, the countryside and the environment. At each stage, they enable Equirandins to forge exceptional relations with the people they meet along the way or who welcome them. They also enable each participant to acquire or develop techniques specific to outdoor riding: topography, orientation, farriery, saddlery...
For this 60th international edition, Bagnoles-de-l'Orne in Normandy will host the Equirando. Renowned for its spa, Bagnoles de l'Orne boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage, with parks, castel, casino, racecourse and more.
After riding to Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, three days of festivities await equestrian tourism enthusiasts. After discovering the region's landscapes and heritage, Equirandins will taste the local gastronomy and be immersed in a typical atmosphere.
The Andaines national forest, which surrounds the 2025 Equirando host site, promises to be a large-scale playground for hikers! This wooded area with more than 450 kilometers of trails, spread over its entire surface area. Bagnoles-de-l'Orne has a strong focus on tourism and outdoor activities, with the GR 22 running along the edge of the forest, allowing hikers from all directions to enjoy the calm and greenery characteristic of Normandy.
This year's edition will be right in the heart of the Normandie-Maine Regional Natural Park. This UNESCO World Geopark is home to some unique landscapes: rocky escarpments, sheer cliffs, white water, belvederes... all wonders that affirm the identity of this territory.
