Raid du Centaure - See you in Limousin in 2025!

After a 2024 edition in Spain, the legendary Raid du Centaure returns to France in 2025. Organized by Ecuries D S Poir, under the aegis of the FITE, this POR of around 100 km over two nights will take place from February 28 to March 2, 2025 in Gorre (France).

THE CENTAURE IN LIMOUSIN

“Limousin is the land of trees and water. There is little relief, but riders will cross many forests and encounter many rivers,” explains Fabrice Guennec, co-organizer of this year's event.

Having taken part in 5 editions of the Raid du Centaure as a rider, he has some advice for participants. “You have to train yourself and your mount. Test your equipment, train at night to check the horse's reaction, especially to the specific equipment you use at night. You also have to learn to take it easy on your mount. Training is essential for both rider and horse."

In terms of organization, Ecuries D S Poir has been organizing national and international TREC competitions for many years. “Organizing such an event can't be done without a good team,” he adds. “I'm supported by Sébastien Bieber, main course designer for this POR, with whom I've already worked to organize an international competition of TREC. We also have the confidence of Jean de Châtillon [who has overseen the Raid du Centaure for many years], so it's a great source of pride to organize this event, but also a big organizational challenge”.
