The General Assembly of the European Horse Network (EHN) was held on 8 December 2020 by videoconference. By introductory remarks, the MEP Hilde Vautmans, President of the horse group in the European Parliament, recalled the latest events of the EHN and the consequences of the covid on the equine sector. On the occasion of this General Assembly, a webinar dedicated to the Animal Health Regulation and Brexit was presented by Göran Akertröm, member of the IHSC Taskforce for Brexit and EU Animal Health Law and FEI veterinarian. After an update on the projects that could be financed by the European Union and news on European issues (veterinary regulations, animal welfare platform...), the General Assembly was officially held with the activity and financial reports 2020, the new organisation of the association's secretariat and the election of the bureau, priorities 2021.
A member of the EHN Bureau since 2018, the FITE wished to seek a new mandate. During this General Assembly, 12 members were elected, including the FITE represented by its president Frédéric Bouix, this time for a term of 3 years (since the adoption of the new statutes).
This statute allows the FITE to to benefit from a reinforced position and to be recognized as an international equestrian organization at European level. With its 13 NETOs from member countries of the European Union out of 24, the FITE has a mission to represent their interests and represent the players in equestrian tourism and leisure riding on the European scene.
